I am a family and psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner specializing in psychiatry, board-certified through AANPCP.
A psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner and family nurse practitioner provides continuing and comprehensive healthcare for individuals and families across all ages, genders, diseases, and body systems. I've been privileged to help my patients attain optimal physical health and improve their mental health. I believe we cannot have one without the other.
I started my career as a registered nurse in 2001, working in many different environments before earning a Master's degree from Otterbein University to become a family nurse practitioner, graduating with honors. Since then, I have practiced as a nurse practitioner, treating acute and chronic illnesses and mental health disorders. I am a certified ADHD Clinical Services Provider (ADHD-CCSP) and have a particular personal interest in neurodivergence and executive function disorders.
My goal is to develop a partnership with my clients. I want to understand you and your personal health goals, then work together to help you achieve them. I will listen. Most people know healthy lifestyle habits from unhealthy ones, so rather than tell you what to do, I want to help you figure out how to make changes that support improving your health—whether that means improving diet, physical activity, sleep, or addressing dependencies—using both traditional and non-traditional treatments.
Testing or specialist consultations may sometimes be required, and all options are carefully considered and discussed. I offer a safe, judgment-free space where you can feel validated in your feelings and experiences and be open about your concerns.
There may be instances when lifestyle changes aren't enough. Despite implementing beneficial changes, treatment-resistant depression, addiction, and emotional trauma can persist. In these situations, some people find that psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy (PAP) provides the breakthrough they need to overcome mental illness and truly live again. I work with therapists and psychologists to provide medical clearance for PAP and can assist with administering psychedelics.
I believe in a collaborative healthcare approach using whatever resources best serve my patients. By partnering with the therapists and counselors at Hope Therapy Center, I'm thrilled to provide the care and assistance needed to help you achieve your health goals.
