Our Approach to Psychiatry & Medication Management
Holistic, Collaborative, and Rooted in True Mental Health Recovery
We know that medication can be a powerful tool—but it’s not the only one. Our goal is to reduce prolonged reliance on psychotropic medications, support true healing, and help our clients thrive emotionally, physically, and mentally.
Collaborative, Integrative Psychiatry Care
We believe mental health is not isolated from the rest of your life. That's why our psychiatric providers collaborate closely with:
- Therapists in our practice and beyond
- Primary care doctors and specialists
- Nutritionists, functional medicine providers, and holistic practitioners
We offer a variety of integrative supports, including:
- Nutritional guidance and supplement support
- Mindfulness, breathwork, and somatic regulation techniques
- Exploration of underlying infections or inflammation that may be impacting mental health
What Is a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner?
A psychiatric nurse practitioner (PMHNP) is an advanced practice clinician trained and licensed to diagnose mental health conditions, prescribe medications, and provide psychotherapy. Psychiatric nurse practitioners hold master's or doctorate degrees in nursing and undergo rigorous clinical training in psychiatry.
At Hope, our PMHNPs work side-by-side with psychiatrists, offering the same high level of care and medication expertise. What sets them apart is often their strong foundation in holistic health, patient-centered care, and integrative mental health practices.
Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy for Healing & Medication Reduction
Research and our clinical experience show that PAT can rapidly reduce symptoms of depression, anxiety, PTSD, and chronic stress, especially in individuals who haven't responded to traditional treatments. Many clients who participate in PAT experience:
- Improved mood regulation and reduced emotional reactivity.
- Breakthroughs in trauma processing and insight
- The ability to taper or discontinue long-term psychiatric medications
Exploring Medical Root Causes of Psychiatric Symptoms
Some of the underlying medical conditions we consider include:
- Lyme disease and co-infections such as Bartonella
- Viral illnesses like Epstein-Barr
- Virus (EBV), herpes viruses, and Long COVID
These biological factors can disrupt neurotransmitter balance, cognitive function, and mood regulation. When identified and treated in collaboration with your medical team, patients often experience a significant reduction in psychiatric symptoms and are able to decrease or even fully taper off medications.
True Recovery Is Possible
At Hope Therapy & Psychiatry Center, we don't believe in managing symptoms forever. We believe in resolving what's underneath them. Whether through integrative psychiatry, thoughtful medication management, ketamine-assisted therapy, or root-cause exploration, we are committed to helping you reclaim your clarity, stability, and joy.
You deserve care that treats your whole self, not just your diagnosis.
Let's create a plan that empowers you to heal—not just cope. Reach out today to schedule an evaluation with our psychiatric team.
